Book exchange for charity
Our tourism trainees (here represented by our trainee David S. and the responsible vocational school teacher Ralf Teicher) have a lot to do sorting all the books that were handed in by the employees and participants of the Euro-BBW during the last few days. The classes of tourism and leisure agents and tourism services management clerks had the wonderful idea of organising a book exchange to provide suitable vacation reading for the approaching vacation season. Many people responded to their call and made the books they had read available for the exchange, along with a short review or comment they had written themselves.
But what is really wonderful about this idea is the good purpose associated with the book exchange: our tourism trainees wanted to take the opportunity to support others as well. That's why the book exchange takes place as a sale, and the proceeds are donated to Villa Kunterbunt in Trier. This facility cares for seriously ill children and their families during aftercare and rehabilitation following treatment. Our tourism trainees had visited Villa Kunterbunt in advance and then made the plan for a fundraising. In addition to the book sale, there is a donation box at the reception of the Euro-BBW, where money is also collected for Villa Kunterbunt.
On two dates in June, the book exchange will take place (internally) and we hope that a nice amount of donations will be collected. A big thank you to our tourism trainees and all involved employees and participants for their commitment!
