IT
In IT we offer courses leading up to a qualification in the following professions:
- Information technology specialist (m/f) with emphasis on application development or system integration (three year fulltime education)
- Information technology assistant (m/f) for system integration (three year assistant education)
IT specialists with emphasis on application development produce programmes and applications. The trainees in this profession have therefore published various websites (most recently for the Rheinland Palatinate Women's Refuge), developed an alarm system for monitoring temperature of the cold storage rooms in the Euro-BBW as well as built and maintained image databases and wikis. Current projects include networking our learning center and setting up an interactive, accessible information tower for the Euro-BBW.
Information technology assistants establish solutions for computer systems and networks and put them into operation. They read circuit diagrams, create and manage networks and establish systems. Besides they set up computer workstations and maintain computer technology.
IT specialists with emphasis on system integration maintain our educational network, consisting of 150 computers. Besides designing the network environment and server configuration, they are responsible for servicing hardware components and making data backups.
As part of their final examination the IT specialists work on a real contract within an external business.
