Team BvB on a special mission in Saarbrücken

On Wednesday, 19.06.2024, the BvB team, consisting of Stefan Haeber, Sandra Lempges, Dörte Lange, Kerstin Knezevic, Patrick Reis, Neele Merz, Tanja Ewen and Hiltrud Wagner, went on a job shadowing trip to Saarbrücken.

After arriving at the ATZ (Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation) in Saarbrücken, an exciting exchange took place between the employees of our vocational training center and the ATZ, and many similarities emerged. The interfaces were discussed. The main difference is that the ATZ is a medical-occupational rehabilitation facility, but we only provide occupational rehabilitation. There are also occupational therapy measures with areas such as office/administration, house, garden, wood, metal and housekeeping.

We were then given a tour of the building and were able to take a look at the work trial areas and have another specific discussion with the staff in the different areas.

After all the new information and ideas we had gathered, the BvB team deserved some refreshments. Together we went to the city center of Saarbrücken to eat something. After the delicacy, there was another adventure in the Team Escape, where the trainers were divided into two teams and given two puzzles to solve.

One team slipped into the role of the best special task force and had to track down a suspect who was up to no good in the world, while the other team got to the bottom of the haunting in a haunted house.

In conclusion, despite the bad weather, it was a very successful team day on which we learned a lot and also had a lot of fun.
